On the sporting front of things, we sponsor Hickling 1st Team Football Club, Hickling Bowls Club (as well as an end of season Greyhound Trophy), and Norfolk Cricket Club who play at both Ingham and Postwick grounds during the summer months.

We are supporters of Hickling Sailing Club and members and supporters of the Lady Yacht Club who meet at various venues throughout the Broads during the sailing season.

We have close links with both the Norfolk Naturalist Trust and the Norfolk Wildlife Trust who run and maintain the 1200 or so acres of Nature Reserve here in Hickling. A Wildlife Book is maintained at the Greyhound of creatures both great and small spotted in our award winning garden, as well as all of the surrounding area, varying from Butterflies of all types, to flocks of Cranes and Marsh Harriers.

We run various charity events throughout the year and also recycle as much of our waste as possible helping out the local School and the Hunnies play group, along with, through a Trust Fund, sponsor play equipment for the whole of the village juniors to use at the recreation ground. The same Trust has also managed to help with some contribution to Norfolk Brass who in turn have played for us here, especially for our Christmas Carol event held each year on our car park, at which we also have a collection for the local children’s Hospice, as well as sell Christmas cards for one of our local artists who is involved with the Hospice.
