Welcome to our local things to do and excuses to visit us here at The Greyhound.

6. Have lunch and then walk the 3 mile circular route around the Village
7. Leave your car here, do the walk and then call for refreshments

10. Lunch here before going to East Ruston Gardens, or:-
11. Visit Fairhaven Water gardens after lunch
12. Hire a boat from the Phoenix Fleet at Potter Heigham or Martham Boat yard, cruise to Hickling - the largest of the Broads, moor at the Staithe, walk the half mile to us for lunch.
13. Hire a boat, a yacht or canoe from Whispering Reeds, either before or after lunch here.
14. Do some bird watching round the Village or at the Nature Reserve
15. Write down what you have seen in our Nature Watch Book
16. Seal watching on Waxham Beach
17. Visit Horsey Mill
18. For local history visit Waxham Barn
19. Cycle round the country lanes
20. Dinner here and stay the night at Black Horse Cottage or Dairy Barns
21. A mornings shop at Hickling Food Fayre (1st Thursday in the month) and then pay us a visit for lunch or a refreshing drink
22. Shop every Thursday morning for local fruit and veg, then visit us
23. Walk the Weavers Way (or part of it), call for a sticker and some refreshment
24. Visit the Radar Museum at Neatishead
25. Search for Swallow tail Butterflies
26. Seek out the elusive Bittern
27. Watch the Cranes swoop over Stubb Mill
28. Visit the open studios during May of our local artists and photographers
29. Seek for your ancestors in St Marys Church or with the History Society
30. Fish on the Broad
31. Join the Bowls club or our own Golf Society
32. The perfect retreat after a W.I, Hickling Ladies group or Parish Council meeting
33. A great venue for a drink on your way home or after a days shopping

47. A Pheasant Shoot at Hickling Hall in the season
48. Come and watch Hickling Football team in the season and come for a refreshing drink after the match (you might need one)

50. And if you can’t park outside the Greyhound, use the overflow car park a few yards up the road at the Chapel.
